The Cardiff city manager Malky Mackay has said that he is hoping to start the new season in red hot form. Cardiff city have failed to get promotion on a number of occasions in the last five seasons, but will be once again favourites to achieve promotion either through the automatic spot or the play-offs position. However, in order to be in the race for the promotion spot the end of the season, they need to start the season extremely well. It is something that has been acknowledged by the Cardiff manager Malky Mackay, who has said that he is hoping for a red hot start to the new season.
The arrival of the Malaysian owners coupled with the changing of the colours of the club has certainly infuriated a lot of the fans. However, the manager has said that the club will be able to benefit from the significant funding provided by the new owners. He has said that due to the amount of money put in by the new owners, they will be looking to change a few aspects of the team, which will be beneficial for the club in the future. Cardiff will be facing the likes of Brighton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Leeds United in the opening few matches of the season.
“We want fans to come and support their team. Cardiff City still have a team because of the Malaysian investment. Every fan is important to this club. Cardiff City has been their team for 100 years and will be there team for another 100 years. Come and support the players as you did in such style last season. We are delighted to start a new season at home,” said the manager ahead of the match with Brighton, which by no means is going to be easy.
