CARDIFF FANS CLAMOUR FOR CRAIG BELLAMY

Fans of English Championship side, Cardiff City have begun a social networking clamour for home-town ace Craig Bellamy.

After losing out on the playoffs, the fans seek a replacement for Russell Slade as Bluebirds’ manager.

Current coach, Slade, has admitted that he is in the dark over his future, with his current deal due to lapse after their game against Birmingham on Saturday. Fans, even popular ones, asked City’s owner Vincent Tan to be bold and ask Bellamy to “re-ignite the fire in the team and the club” for upcoming campaign. Even Slade knows it’s up to Tan to decide his future especially after fans voted him out 84 percent in a fans’ poll.

Abraham, who has been a Bluebirds season-ticket holder for 43 consecutive seasons and who runs the messageboard where the poll was decided said:

“To be honest, there has been quite a bit of talk about Bellamy since October. But after the manner of the weekend defeat at Hillsborough, the clamour has got louder and louder.

“The fans, it seems, want someone to explode this football club, re-ignite their fire and passion. And as a local man, they believe Bellamy is the person to do it.

Bottom of Form

“They are becoming more and more vocal about Bellamy after it was made public that Slade’s contract is coming to an end. Many want a new manager brought in and they name Bellamy as that man.”

Abraham admitted Slade did a lot for the club but the fans just want more and prefers Bellamy to lead the team. Continue reading CARDIFF FANS CLAMOUR FOR CRAIG BELLAMY

Cardiff hopes of play-off boosted

Cardiff raises their hopes of making it to the play-off by beating Derby 2-1 on Saturday.  This victory put Cardiff only two points behind Derby.

The game was held before an energetic crowd with Cardiff recording a record attendance for this game overtaking the previous record which was against Liverpool in the Premier League.

The host makes the best possible start by leading 1-0 after a difficult first half. The goal came courtesy of aEcuele Manga, who jumped higher that everybody else on a corner. His powerful head met an equally good corner by Peter Whittingham to open the scoring for Cardiff.

Derby for all their possession did not manage to create a whole lot of goal scoring opportunities and ended the first half trailing 1-0.

After the break, Derby improved and recorded their first shot just after 4 minutes to equalize thanks to Martin. The Cardiff’s goalkeeper saved the latter’s first shot, but Martin was prompt on the rebound to equalize for Derby.

Following the goal, Cardiff regrouped and tried to gain control of the game again. They will manage to get chances after chances only to be denied by the Derby’s goalkeeper Scott Carson. First, it was Craig Noone who was denied by the goalkeeper when his powerful shot was saved. A few minutes later, it was Scott Malone’s shot which was stopped by Scott Carson as the keeper keeps producing fantastic saves one after the other. Fans want to see Russell Slade out of Cardiff City

Supporters of Cardiff City don’t want to see Russell Slade in the club anymore and they have made it very clear with social media overflowing with negative comments involving the 55 year old manager who seems to have lost the love and support from the fans of Cardiff City who are simply waiting and hoping to see him being removed from the managerial position of the club.

Not only are the fans of Cardiff City utilizing social media to voice their disapproval of Russell Slade but it can also be seen and experienced in the actual matches of the English League Championship club as they are booing the manager and the team in itself. This was clearly evident during Cardiff City’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest which was played back in December 29 of 2015.

The disappointing performances that the players of Cardiff City have been displaying not only can be seen from their matches in the English League Championship but it also extends to different competitions as they also suffered a 0-1 defeat against Shrewsbury as the time of Russell Slade appears to be running out.

Vincent Tan is the owner of Cardiff City and he is receiving requests from all over the world of sacking Russell Slade as soon as possible. Slade currently has a contract with Cardiff City which expires in the summer but the disapproval that the fans have in relation to the manager is so big that his time in the club might end sooner than what his contract has stated as just about everyone has lost their faith in Slade after all these negative results that Cardiff City has been picking up. Daryl Murphy is no longer a target of Russell Slade

Daryl Murphy was one of the priority summer targets of Cardiff City as the player attracted the attention of a number of clubs after scoring 27 goals and helping Ipswich Town get into the play-offs but ultimately losing out to Norwich City in the semi-finals.

It was initially believed that Cardiff City was preparing to launch an offer in the region of €4 million in order to sign the 32 year old forward from Ipswich Town but it’s not going to happen as Russell Slade will try to reinforce players in other positions.

Russell Slade was going to do everything in his power to try and sign Daryl Murphy but now he is going to focus on other positions of his squad that need to be reinforced including, the left and right wings.

Even though €4 million was the price tag that Ipswich Town had on Daryl Murphy, that price could have easily increased taking into consideration that Stoke City, Burnley, Queens Park Rangers, Fulham and Middlesbrough all have shown desire of signing Murphy and Cardiff City isn’t in the financial position to spend big cash in signing players. So, instead of spending a significantly large amount of money a player who is 32 years old, Russell Slade will be searching around for other players to sign that can be cheaper and younger. Russell Slade wants better Performance from his team

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has seen his team achieve some impressive results over the last month, but he says that he wants an even better performance when his team take on Birmingham City this weekend.

Cardiff have little to play for in the remainder of the season. After the home match against Birmingham, the club will have only seven matches left in the season. Since we are already 16 points behind the final play-off spots, it is looking unlikely that the players will be motivated going into the weekend. The prospect of relegation has also been avoided for the time being.

Slade says that the team has definitely performed exceptionally well in the recent matches against Bournemouth and Brentford. Cardiff were not expected to get even a point from these two matches against top opposition, but they managed to overcome all odds by getting four points. This was possible after a win over Brentford and a draw against Bournemouth, who currently lead the table. Birmingham have not been going through the same kind of form as their last two opponents, but Slade still considers them as a top opposition nonetheless. There have been several up-and-down some of the campaign, but Slade wants to ensure a strong finish to the season. Continue reading Russell Slade wants better Performance from his team
