Cardiff pushing for promotion

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock said that his side would be pushing for promotion next season.

He said that this season had been a preparation one and he believes now he has the necessary players to challenge for promotion.

He admitted that this season had been a tough one, and things have not gone as he has planned, but he believes that he has learned to understand the players better. Indeed Neil Warnock only took over at the club in October 2016, and he will be hoping that this time around he will have the freedom to sign the players he wants.

He said that he has already identified some players that can strengthen the team and that negotiation will start as soon as the season is officially over. He said that if you want to win promotion in the Premier League, you will need to find players that can fight physically on the pitch. Continue reading Cardiff pushing for promotion

BELLAMY DRUMS UP SUPPORT FOR MCNAUGHTON FAREWELL

Cardiff legend Craig Bellamy is drumming support for fellow legend Kevin McNaughton as he is set to get a farewell on Sunday.

The former Liverpool star has said that deserves the same kind of send-off that the fans of the club gave him.

Both soccer stars played together for three years, helping the club get promoted to the top flight. Bellamy was happy that they eventually got what the fans always wanted and McNaughton was very pleasedas that was his dream from the beginning.

Whilst the fans also adore McNaughton, he never received the kind of response Bellamy got when he resigned from the game as there was never the chance. He moved from the club to Bolton Wanderers and also played for Inverness.

Both stars are going to manage different teams this weekend for McNaughton’s benefit match at Cardiff City stadium. Hence, Bellamy is drumming up the support. Continue reading BELLAMY DRUMS UP SUPPORT FOR MCNAUGHTON FAREWELL

NEIL WARNOCK CONSIDERING DAVID DAVIS

Neil Warnock, the manager of Cardiff City, has been weighing up his options and may consider a move for David Davis, Birmingham midfielder when the transfer window opens this month.

The midfielder would be entering the final six months of his contract with Birmingham very soon and Cardiff would not mind making a move for him.

However, it seems Cardiff are not the only ones interested in the 25 year old midfielder. Nottingham Forest has also showed their interest in the player who scored three goals in his 23 Championship appearance this season.

For Nottingham, their discussions with Birmingham over the player seems to be at an impasse at the moment and they are duly tracking the situation.

At Birmingham, Davis is a key player and it is likely he would not be let off so easily by the team. He has also been able to make a good impression on Gianfranco Zola since the new manager took over from Gary Rowett.

With that, Davis has been restored to central midfield by Zola, who has also privately given his backing for the long term future of the 25 year old midfielder at the club, to be sorted out this month. Continue reading NEIL WARNOCK CONSIDERING DAVID DAVIS

Since arriving to Cardiff City, Warnock has signed 4 players in less than a week

Neil Warnock penned a managerial contract with the English League Championship, Cardiff City on October 5 of the ongoing year and in less than a week of being appointed he had already added 4 new players to the club.

Junior Hoilett, Sol Bamba, MarouaneChamakh and Kieran Richardson are all of the players that Cardiff City signed within a week after having lured in Neil Warnock to the club but even though there has been a significant amount of players being signed and changes being done since the arrival of Warnock, Cardiff City are being tipped as one of the clubs that will be finishing at the bottom spots of the English League Championship.

Out of the 7 opening matches of the English League Championship of this current season, Cardiff City sustained 5 defeats, 1 draw and 1 victory. This is the start of the season that Cardiff experienced under the tutelage of their former manager Paul Trollope and it’s because of this underwhelming kick to their campaign that Cardiff City are still being tipped to finish in the bottom relegation zone and why they had to make a recent managerial change.
